Kenneth Elliott Jones, known as “Kenny” to his family and friends, was a native of Sacramento California. He was born to Percy Elliott and Mildred Jones on August 14, 1953, in Houston Texas, during a visit to Texas, from California, Kenneth’s mom went into labor in the city of Houston Texas. At the tender age of two months Kenneth’s mom traveled back to California with him lying on a pillow. Kenneth spent his entire childhood and a majority of his adult life in California. He was born the second of three children.
Kenneth was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1971. Kenneth spent one year at Sacramento City College before enlisting in the United State Army. He was discharged from the armed forces as a disabled veteran. Kenneth also retired from Sacramento Army Depot as a circuit board electrician.
Kenneth had a love for music, tinkered with the saxophone and the guitar. He had a love for cars and motorcycles.
Kenneth was a kind and gentle soul, he loved God first, he had a love for the Bible, his mother, children and animals.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Percy Elliott Jones, a loving grandmother, Beatrice Moses and an uncle Michael L. Isadore. He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother (caregiver), Mildred Sauls and step father Clarence Sauls of Round Rock, Texas; one son, Pherson Elliott Jones of Arizona; two sisters, Jackie Stewart of Austin, Texas, and Gail A. Willis of Sacramento California; two nephews, Mark Elliott Range (Cindy) of Round Rock, Texas, and Larry Smith of Sacramento, California; two nieces, Shani Ali of Round Rock, Texas and his special and caring niece, Kimberely K Willis of Round Rock, Texas; one great niece Shaina; and three great-nephews Davis, Kellen and Laurence, all of Round Rock, Texas; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 6PM – 8PM at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 1PM in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
