Kim Jewel Blackwell (Telfair) was born December 26, 1957, to her parents Leotta Pearl Pile-Blackwell, and Charles Andrew Murray in Queens, New York. As a young lady, she enjoyed time spent with family and close friends. This loving personality throughout her life caused people to naturally gravitate toward her.
Kim attended and received elementary and high school education in the Queens, New York public school system. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in Queens and completed higher-level technical training.
Kim had a strong belief in Jesus Christ, our Savior, and affiliated herself with various Non-Denominational and Baptist congregations during her lifetime. Her last membership was with the Shoreline Church in Round Rock, Texas.
On a professional level, her recent jobs were at Verizon, Texas Worker’s Compensation, and The State of Texas. Kim worked many years as a single mom to ensure her children were well supported. Due largely to her sacrifices, her son Jamal was able to obtain a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
She was preceded in death by her mother Leotta P Blackwell and father Charles Murray. Left to cherish her wonderful memory are her husband Wayne Stanley Telfair, son Jamal Blackwell, daughter Sade Ward-Blackwell, sisters Alisa Blackwell and Tiffany E Valgean, brother Syed Majeed, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other extended family and friends.
