Kourtney Brown, age 41, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2018, at her parents’ home in Austin after a long struggle with breast cancer. She was born on December 6, 1976, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Austin, Texas. She was a 1995 graduate of Reagan High School. She attended ACC with a concentration in Business Administration. She worked at Clinical Pathology Laboratories on Wall St., Austin, Texas where she loved her work family, especially her boss, Kathy Wilson.
Although Kourtney’s unique sense of humor was what drew many of her friends to her at first, her caring heart and sincere kindness made her a treasured friend. Kourtney shared a special bond with her daughter Kirah, who inherited her mother’s joyful and loving spirit. Besides her daughter Kirah, Kourtney is survived by her parents, Randy and Karen (Teaney) Brown, her brother, Jared, and his daughter, Shelby and Grandmother Dolores as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends.
A visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral located on 203 East 10th Street, Austin Texas 78701.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of Kourtney.
