From a young age, Kyle loved the outdoors. He spent several seasons playing on multiple Round Rock Little League Baseball teams and was also a proud member of the Anderson Mill Barracudas Swim Team.
During middle school and high school, Kyle was an active member of the Leander Church of Christ Youth Group and loved it tremendously. He worked part-time after school and participated in the Marine Corps ROTC program for three years. As part of this program, he was selected to travel to California for a week-long, boot camp-style experience representing his school.
After graduating from high school, Kyle attended Abilene Christian University, where he pursued a degree in Multimedia. He served as president of the ACU Multimedia Club and traveled with his team to competitions in the Washington, D.C. area. He also enjoyed participating in ACU’s annual “Sing Song,” a fun acapella competition, and treasured the friendships he formed during his college years.
Following graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, Kyle moved back home to Round Rock. After working several jobs, he joined the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, a position he considered his dream job. He spent many years there, earning both positive recognition and several promotions, and forming lasting friendships with colleagues. He truly loved his job.
Kyle had a passion for discovering new culinary recipes to try and often persuaded his mom to try them out.
Kyle was a devoted member of the Leander Church of Christ in Leander, Texas, where he participated in many church outreach efforts including the “Brighter Days Food Pantry,” and the “Clothes Closet.” He also served as a song leader and helped coordinate communion volunteers.
Additionally, Kyle often volunteered on Sunday mornings at Mosaic Church of Austin with the Mosaic Street Ministry, helping prepare coffee and services for more than 100 unhoused neighbors each week.
Kyle loved his Church families and his Lord. He had a heart as big as Texas and touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed, and his positive, selfless, helpful, and loving spirit will continue to live on in all who knew him.
