Larry Gayle Jacobson

Larry G. Jacobson, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on January 25,2025 in Georgetown, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Arleen Waddle and Gayle Jacobson and spent his childhood in Boxholm, Iowa. After graduating from Marshalltown High School, Larry moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to attend Coe College. It was there that he met the love of his life, Sandie Crowley.

Larry was a devoted husband to Sandie, loving father to Lori and Randy, and proud grandfather to Justin, Julie/Jay. After numerous years in the education field, he retired from Round Rock ISD in the late 90’s. In his retirement, he and Sandie spent several years traveling in their RV. Larry had many passions, including working on his genealogy, taking cruises, and playing games like cards, cribbage, and marbles.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandie; daughter Lori (Priscilla); son Randy (Jill); grandchildren Justin and Julie/Jay (Megan), brother Gary Jacobson; and his beloved dogs, Ashlee Ann and Hollie Anna. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind many cherished relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Gayle Jacobson and Arleen Waddle, and his sister, Linda Saari.

Larry’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Tranquility Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided during his final days.

In accordance with Larry’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held on February 7, 2025, at Cook Walden in Pflugerville, Texas.
