

Larry Dale Sharpe, 74, passed away March 10, 2023 from severe burns received from a propane tank explosion in his truck in Cedar Park. Larry was born on January 5, 1949 to Jesse L. Sharpe and Naomi Ellis Sharpe in Austin, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cyd Powers, grandparents, father Jesse L. Sharpe, nephew Shaun N. Sharpe, and sister-in-laws Kelly Sharpe and Clara Jean Croy.
He is survived by his mother Naomi Sharpe and brothers Nelson L. Sharpe (Betty) Taylor, TX, Michael D. Sharpe (Jackie) New Braunfels, TX and Kevin E. Sharpe Houston, TX, niece Jessica Barron (Dane) and nephews Christopher Sharpe, Ryan Sharpe and Kyle Sharpe.
Larry served in the Army as a medic and traveled to various countries overseas after his release from the Army. He lived and traveled for a number years between Florida and Austin, but Austin/Cedar Park was always home. For 20+ years Larry worked for Cedar Park Body and Frame until he retired.
Larry was completely devoted to his dog, Little Dog, who was constantly by his side. He escaped the accident with only a few singed hairs. In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Larry’s love of his dog, donations may be made to the Austin or Cedar Park Animal Shelter.
A graveside service for Larry will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 at 3:00 p.m., at Fall Creek Cemetery, 26683 W. Hwy 71, Spicewood, TX 78669.
