Larry Dean Stevenson was born on March 16th, 1935 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Robert and Cora Lee Stevenson. He grew up in Big Spring, Texas where he met the love of his life, Saundra Mason, and they married October 5th, 1955. They began their life together, Larry starting his career, and soon they became a family on July 16th, 1956 when Anthony Craig was born. On July 29th, 1957 another son, Ronnie Ray was born. A third son was born to the Stevenson family but due to a medical condition passed away, only living 8 days. On December 2nd, 1968 another addition to the family was born, Joel David Stevenson.
Larry’s life was full of accomplishments; a thriving business, a ministry of helping people and sharing his faith, and being a wonderful husband, daddy, and friend. His life was summarized by a simple saying, “A man’s life is not measured by how much of an impression he makes, but in what kind of impact on people’s lives that makes the difference.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Saundra Stevenson; father, Robert Stevenson; mother, Cora Lee Schaffer; brothers, Sonny Stevenson, David Stevenson, and Mike Schaffer; and sons, Robert Duane Stevenson, and Ronnie Ray Stevenson.
He is survived by his sons, Anthony Craig Stevenson and Joel David Stevenson; daughter-in-laws, Rhonda Stevenson and Pam Stevenson; grandchildren, Chad Stevenson, Kristin Stevenson, Tiffany Stevenson, Justin Stevenson, Rachel Stevenson, Morgan Stevenson, Caleb Stevenson, Tyler Stevenson, Casey Harris, Jenna Payne, Jessica Lane, and Chris Harris; and great-grandchildren, Preston Harris, Travis Harris, Carter Lane, Rance Stevenson, and Bodhi Johnson. Larry also leaves many other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
Larry filled all of our lives with joy and optimism that only he could give, a sweetness and tenderness that only a real man can show, and the strength that comes from God that he personified. You will be missed and this world has been diminished by your passing.
