LaRue was married to the love of her life for 49 years. She was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she delighted in service of song with her senior choir group. She loved singing for the Lord and traveling with the choir. She was an active gardener and had a love/hate relationship with the local Texas deer that insisted on eating her plants. LaRue had a hobby of collecting antique dishes. She served her family through her love of sewing and crafts. She doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her banana pudding was legendary.
LaRue is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin C. Dunagin. Her remaining family who are listed as follows lift prayers of thanks to the Lord for a loving mother and grandmother: son Vernon L. Dunagin of San Antonio, daughter Debbie Jackson of Round Rock, grandchildren Lee Jackson, Lisa Meier, Amanda Dunagin-Siller, Lori Wade, and great-grandchildren Caleb Jackson, Alec Meier, Reid Meier and Michael Wade, sisters Maxine Onstead and Neva Thomas.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither heights nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
