Laura Arelis Seda

Laura was born in Austin, TX on August 8, 1985, and was the cherished daughter of Carlos and Gloria Seda. She grew up in a lively household alongside her brothers, Nick Barrera and Carlos Antonio Seda Jr., who protected and adored her. Laura graduated from Del Valle High School in 2003. She then earned her associate's degree from Texas Culinary Academy. Laura was a great cook but enjoyed teaching and helping children and dedicated her professional life to shaping young minds and inspiring future generations. Laura was a passionate special education educator. She poured her heart into her students and colleagues, leaving a lasting impact during her years teaching at Gilbert Elementary and Del Valle High School. Her patience, kindness, and devotion to education transformed countless lives in her community.

Outside the classroom, Laura found her greatest peace and joy by the ocean with her children Mia Elena, Liyahnora, and Dominick. The beach was truly her happy place where she loved to feel the sand beneath her feet, listen to the crashing waves, and soak in the warmth of the sun. Her bright spirit and memory will forever live on in the hearts of her parents, brothers, her children, family, friends, and the many students she inspired.

Laura is survived by her grandmother, Virginia Coronado; her parents Carlos and Gloria Seda; her brother and sister-in-law Nick and Avery Barrera; her brother Carlos Antonio Seda Jr.; her niece Elizabeth Barrera; her nephew Nickolas Barrera; her children Mia Elena, Liyahnora and Dominick Rodriguez and their father, Adam Rodriguez. Laura is loved by all her aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, cherished friends, and students. Laura was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Felix Coronado, Sr., and her paternal grandparents, Antonio Seda and Juana Colon.

With grateful hearts for the time, we were blessed to share with Laura, we invite our family and friends to join us as we celebrate her beautiful life.
