

Leland “Chief” Randal McCall Sr., 54, of Austin, Texas, unexpectedly passed away on January 13, 2024. He was born on April 12, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of LeRay and JoAnn McCall. He grew up in Austin, Texas, where he developed the values that shaped him into the person he became.
Leland found beauty in everything, from music to books and eventually to sports. He loved literature and musical arts. He was a natural athlete who had a strong will for success and a passion for competition. He excelled quickly in the sport of basketball and attended Texas State University, formerly known as Southwest Texas University.
Leland is preceded in death by his father and mother, LeRay and JoAnn McCall. He is survived by his sons, LeQuince R. McCall (and his wife Morgan) and Leland R. McCall, Jr.; daughter élan L. McCall; and grandson, Jett D. McCall. In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory: aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
Although there will be no services held, at Leland’s request, the family asks you to share any memories and/or photos that you may have of Leland on his memorial website. They will be read and adored by those who loved him most. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as we move forward during this difficult time.
