

He was born in McAllen, Texas on July 3, 1940 to James and Annie Pool. Lewis worked as a planner for the City of Austin and retired after 27 years of service. His life partner for 35 years was Ruby Tijerina. He served honorably in the Army National Guard of Texas from 1963 to 1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Janet Mitchell Pool and Peggy Pool, and his brothers, Billy Joe Pool, Jerry Pool and Jimmy Pool. He is survived by his son, Jeff Pool; his grandsons, Matthew Pool and Ryan Pool and wife Chloe; and his great-grandson, Jasper Pool. He is also survived by his sisters, Bettie Robinson of Odessa, TX, Shirley Ross of Horseshoe Bay, TX, Martha Yarbrough and husband Terry of Coleman, TX, Glenda Ujhely of Las Vegas, NV, Judy Grissom of Marble Falls, TX, and Bonnie Browning and husband Mark of Amarillo, TX; his brothers, Larry Pool and Bobby Pool of Midland, TX, and Rodney Pool and wife Marla of Kingsland, TX; and his former spouse, Mazie (Pool) Norman.
