Lloyd Armbrust, Sr.

October 30, 1930April 11, 2018

Lloyd Wayne Armbrust, Sr. passed away peacefully on April 11, 2018 at Brookdale Parmer Lane Senior Living in Austin, Texas at the age of 87.

Lloyd was born on October 30, 1930 in Federal Dam, Minnesota to the late Edwin Lee Armbrust and Hazel Bernice Clark. He was born exactly one year and one day after Black Tuesday--making him an actual product of the Great Depression.

Following in the footsteps of his brother who was tragically lost at sea during the Typhoon of 1944, Lloyd joined the Navy earning the National Defense, United Nations, and Korean service medals. Lloyd was an extremely hard worker who held many jobs ranging from the Merchant Marines, to Roughneck, to becoming a Plant Manager for Cutler-Magner in Superior, WI. He also traded metals on the stock market and operated a small apartment complex.

As a devoted father to his children and friend to many, he will be forever remembered for his love of the great outdoors, running in marathons, and being a living example of optimal health and nutrition. His personality, smile, sense-of-humor and genuineness will never be forgotten, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lloyd is survived by: his sisters, Delores Chapman of Wenatchee, Washington and Bernice Whipple of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a son, Lloyd W. Armbrust, Jr. of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Jasmine Janet Lenderman of Port Angeles, Washington; and five wonderful grandchildren: Emmaline, Lloyd III, Archer, Juliette, and Eleanor.

A Memorial Service was held for Lloyd on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Four O’clock in the afternoon in the Memorial Chapel of Cook Walden Capital Parks funeral home in Pflugerville, Texas.
