Lorenzo "Larry" Castillo, Sr. passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 in Temple, Texas following a brief illness. He was born on September 19, 1957 in Austin, Texas to his parents, Santos Castillo, Sr. and Carmen Nesbitt.
At the young age of 19, Larry was hired to work at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. Through years of hard work and dedication, he worked his way up and earned the title of Cemetery Superintendent. Larry was immensely proud of his 45 year career as a staple of the Cook-Walden team; he poured his time and caring heart into making sure the cemetery grounds were always well-maintained and beautiful year round. Larry's strong work ethic, deep-rooted integrity, vivid storytelling, and his natural ability to light up a room with his brilliant smile are just a few of the things that will be deeply missed.
Larry was known for his larger than life personality. He was the most amazing husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first and often took time from his busy schedule to spend quality time with his grandchildren. Along with being a faithful family man, he loved to ride and show off his Harley. He made friends wherever he went and was dearly loved by everyone who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
He is preceded in death by his precious granddaughter, Audrey; his brothers, Adam Castillo and Bobby Castillo; and his only sister, Martha Castillo.
