Lorine McDonald

Lorine accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age at The Mount Olive Baptist Church under Pastor H.A. Sneed. Lorine left Mount Olive for a while and later rejoined under Pastor Richard Carter.

Lorine attended Blackshear Elementary, Kealing Junior High and graduated in 1964 from L.C. Anderson High School in Austin, Texas where she participated in a number of activities. She moved to Houston, Texas for a couple of years before returning to Austin where she worked at the Austin State Hospital and Child Inc. of Austin. After working at Child Inc. and learning the trade, she successfully owned and operated her home childcare for 25 years.

Lorine met and married Chester McDonald and enjoyed 52 years of marriage with him.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Howard, Arthur, and Ralph; sisters, Thelma, Zelma, and Ola Mae.

Lorine’s life and memories will be cherished by her loving husband, Chester McDonald; her daughter, Dana Davis; grandson, Tremont Davis; granddaughters, Deanna and Laila Davis; her sisters, Josephine and Willie Mae Thomas; a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
