Louis August Miertschin, 77, of Austin, Texas passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, December 22, 2014. He was a longtime resident of Austin and a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed working in the garden, watching old western and war movies, bowling, taking walks around the neighborhood, and spending time with his two dogs.
Louis leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Ronnie Miertschin and wife Brenda, Dennis Miertschin, and Keith Miertschin and wife Vicki; daughter, Annette Schlumpf; brother, Elmo Miertschin and wife Francis; sister, Maryann Becker; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate Louis’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The family will greet guests from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Interment will follow services at Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
