

To her husband she was Lula Belle, to her children Mom, to her grandchildren and great grandchildren Grandma 'Cile, to her extended family Aunt 'Cile, and to a host of friends and associates Mrs. Walker or Sister Walker.
She grew up as a farmer's daughter and became accustomed to hard work and sacrifice at an early age. Married to Prentis "Pete" Walker in October of 1935, she became a wife and home maker during the days of The Great Depression. She started a family in 1941 and raised 3 boys; Larry, Jerry, and Billy. When her children were grown, she went to work at Walter Tips Hardware Store in Austin, and later at Walker Tire Company from which she retired at the age of 94.
For many years, she was a supporter and volunteer at Central Texas Children's Home, and well into her 80's she served as a volunteer at St. David's Medical Center in Austin. She also took on the role as an Elder's wife at Southside Church of Christ, and in her later years she served as a faithful member of North Loop Church of Christ in Austin.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Larry Walker and his wife Patsy, and Billy Walker and his wife Pam, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many more extended family, friends, and fellow church members who will always cherish her memory and honor her for her kind gentle heart and a life of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pete Walker, a son Gerald Michael Walker, brothers Stacey Hickman, Layford Hickman, Sam Hickman, Gilbert Hickman, and Oren Thomas Hickman, sisters Nettie Bryant, and Olga Cleveland, and a granddaughter Gail Evon Walker.
A visitation will be held in Lucille's honor from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 in The Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home with an interment to follow at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
