The family will receive guests from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
Survivors include her mother, Juanita N. Mercado, husband, Foad Askari, sons, Shaheen and Keivan Askari, daughter in-law, Kat Askari, and many cousins.
Lupe was a devoted wife and mother, a kind woman that brought joy to all who knew her. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, whether it was a casual lunch or a family trip to the coast. She was a nurturer at heart and enjoyed helping people. She loved her work with young children which she did for more than twenty years.
She will be truly missed.
