Lynn was born the youngest of three boys in Tyler, Texas on March 22, 1947 to Ivan and Cornelia Stout. Home soon became Austin, Texas where he attended Travis Heights Elementary, O’Henry Middle School, and graduated from Austin High School. He then continued his education at Blinn Junior College followed by James Connelly Technical Institute of Texas A&M University. He was a long-term member of the Local 286 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union beginning in April 1976. After gaining valuable experience in his field, he started Stout Air Conditioning in 1990 which he operated until 2001. In 1996, he and his son built and operated Stout RV Park in Georgetown, Texas, which he maintained until 2016. He also partnered with his son in the management and operations of The Mother Lode, a Bar/Restaurant/Convenient Store/RV Park in Ohio City, CO beginning in 2005.
Upon retirement, Lynn moved to a place he loved in Holiday Beach of Rockport, Texas in 2016, right before Hurricane Harvey hit. Though he had to rebuild, he stayed in Rockport to enjoy fishing and enjoying the peace of the ocean.
Lynn is survived by his brothers John and Maxwell Stout, his wife Pamela Stout, his children Janine Ann Ponsart, Christine Elizabeth Day, and Lynn Coltharp Stout Jr., his step-sons Michael and Josh Hanna, and his grandchildren Gabriel, Aison, Ashlyn, Dominique, Lauren, and Kaci. He also maintained a close relationship with his stepdaughter from a previous marriage, Dawn Lander.
The celebration of his life will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemetery at 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660 on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The service will take place in The Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in the cemetery adjacent to it.
