She was born Jo Lynne Wheeler in Lexington, Kentucky, to Paul J. and Anna Lee Wheeler. She graduated from L.C. Anderson High School in 1976. Lynne earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University in 1980 and a Master's degree in Human Services from St. Edward's University in 1989. During her career, she held various positions at all levels of government -- the City of Austin, Travis County, and the State of Texas.
Lynne married her high school sweetheart, Tom, in 1981. Lynne's interests ranged from big city excitement to quiet country cabin life. She loved Broadway musicals, art, live music, and fine dining. But just as dear to her was quiet time spent in the pristine Colorado mountains, sipping wine on the deck or visiting with friends around a roaring bonfire. Lynne and Tom traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe, creating many happy memories.
Lynne is survived by her husband, Tom; father, Paul Wheeler; sister, Karen Hall; and three nieces, one nephew, two grand-nieces and one grand-nephew.
Lynne was a doting owner and foster mom to several rescue dogs. Donations in her memory may be made to BlueDogRescue.com/donate.
Lynne loved life and made the world a better place through her habitual kindness. We can all honor her legacy by spreading love and living our lives to the fullest.
