

She was born in Berclair, Bee County, Texas on May 28, 1936. She was married to Bill C. Gallegos on May 21, 1955. She had a long career in bookkeeping in various companies. She worked at the Whataburger headquarters, Telco Credit Union, Corpus Christi Catholic Diocese and finally retired at the Texas State Florist Associates. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Pflugerville and later at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin.
Manuela had a passion for cooking, gardening and sports, especially University of Texas football and Houston Astros baseball. Her greatest passion in life was the love of her family.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 69 years, Bill Gallegos; her daughters, Jo Ann Gallegos Towle and Sandra Gallegos Valdez; her grandchildren, Alisha Valdez Luna, Christopher Lance Towle (Cristina), Erik Andrew Valdez and Amanda Rae Towle; her great-granddaughter, London Grace Luna; her sole surviving sister, Becky Hernandez; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Beatrice (Wilson) Flores and two brothers, Ray Louis Flores and Benny Flores.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 12041 Bittern Hollow in Austin. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
