Marguerite Elenora Curtis (Meg), age 74, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 after a lengthy courageous battle of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD). Meg donated her organs to the UT Willed-Body Program in Houston, Texas, and was cremated and we just received back her cremains.
Her youngest daughter, Michelle Marie Curtis, was by her side when she took her last breath, and soon after her oldest daughter Jacqueline Lynn Nolan arrived.
Meg was born on March 16, 1943 in Lima, Ohio, and had been a resident of Austin, Texas for 37 years after moving from Lexington, Kentucky, where she was a Veterinarian Technician for a large animal veterinary clinic. Meg was also a Retiree of Johnson & Johnson and was there for many, many years.
Meg is survived by her 3 children, Jacqueline Lynn Nolan, Michelle Marie Curtis, and Kristopher Allen Curtis. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Taylor Marie Curtis, Nicholas James Bieltz, and David Uriel Kilman. She is also survived by a niece, Teresa Strater and her husband, Norm Strater, and a sister-in-law, Sharon DeTurk. A special good-bye to her from her beloved dogs, Wila, Sophie, and Sam.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel L. Deturk and Mary Magdalena DeTurk (Gallo), and her late husband, David Ratliff Curtis, and one brother, John (Jack) DeTurk.
Memorial Services will be held on March 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. She will be laid to rest with her late husband, David Ratliff Curtis in the Mausoleum located on the cemetery grounds. It will be facilitated by her two daughters, Jacqueline Lynn Nolan and Michelle Marie Curtis.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association on behalf of Marguerite Elenora Curtis.
