Born on February 6, 1950 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. She was the daughter of Jose Maria Hernandez and Velia Beatris Avendano. Maria E. Gonzales and her husband were the Pastors of Iglesia Milagros de fe en Cristo in Austin, Texas.
Pastora Gonzales was preceded in death by her husband Jose Angel Gonzales, her parents Jose Maria and Vella Beatriz; her daughter Gloria Tijerina, brothers Mario and Robert Hernandez; her sisters Maria Ramona McDowell and Maria Concepcion Guerrero.
She is survived by her sons: Jose A. Gonzales Jr., Antonio Gonzales, Jesus Sosa, daughters: Tanya Chappuies, Maria Sosa, Maria Loera, Andrea Valdez. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 14 great-children and many other loving relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10am Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
