Marie Theresa Jeck Hamilton passed away the evening of April 30. She was raised in Iola, Kansas. Marie was born to Adam and Helen Jeck, the second oldest of 9 siblings. The family later moved to Wichita, Kansas where Marie met and married her best friend, Irving Hamilton. Together they raised 3 sons and 1 daughter. Through their example they worked hard to instill strong values and the importance of family, faith, hard work, kindness, tolerance, generosity, forgiveness, and love.
Marie was a strong woman, stubborn, gentle but direct and had an amazing sense of humor. Marie was very active in the life of her Church, St Albert the Great in Austin, TX. She and Irving were members of the Great Club where they formed lifelong friends. Was a member of St Anne’s Circle where she helped hand sew many quilts that were raffled for special projects at St Albert the Great.
June 26th would have marked Irving and Marie’s 71st wedding anniversary. They cherished each other through the good times and difficult times of raising a family. We treasure all the wonderful memories and experiences our parents shared with us. We will all miss her but be comforted to know that she is in God’s loving embrace.
The family would like to thank Hospice Austin for their guidance and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the St Vincent de Paul Society or Catholic Relief Services would be welcomed.
