Remembering my sweet cousin today and every time I watch his favorite FB team.  Although your  absence still stings, I pray for your children, family, siblings, parents and all those who loved you while you were with us, that they may feel your warmth today.  May this day be filled with happy memories in anticipation of reuniting one day.  I am 
comforted  by the words of Christ: “In this world you will have trouble but rest assured I AM with you always.” What a support to have a spirit or faith tradition that anchors us to light when we are grieving . Mario, it’s been months since you’ve passed and you’re still in my thoughts every day.  You were my best friend for over 20 years and many of my greatest memories in life were shared with you.  We laughed so hard and had so much fun no matter what we were doing.  You always brought joy and happiness to everyone around you.  Your memory will live with me forever.  Man, I really miss you. I am heartbroken by this news.  It took me a number of days to take it in... going back to his photo to look at him again & again, since I had not seen him since college, closing my eyes trying to recall the sound of his voice , playing his guitar & his contagious laugh...
Please accept my deepest condolences... The pain you must be going through is unimaginable. The depths of your pain I cannot comprehend, but I’ll stand beside you in this darkness . 
Mario has been of the most selfless humans I have ever met, and what an honor to be able to be around him when we were younger. 
I’ll always treasure my first trip to Mount Bonnell with him and our first homemade Enchilada Verdes dinner that he was so proud of and called his mother to verify the sour cream ingredient :) I was lucky enough to share mundane moments with him that I will always treasure and will always ,always hold dear. 


I’m so sorry for your loss. Mario was a great guy. You will truly be missed by lots of family and friends! Rest in Paradise!! 

My dearest condolences to the family and friends of Mario Villanueva. Mario was a great man who loved his family and friends very much. He taught me many things as we grew through the years of knowing him. We first met nearly 20 years ago when we were young adults in our first semester in college, living in the dorms. We were two different types of people, but I knew immediately I wanted to be around him. He was a very likeable person that loved making people smile. Mario was a big part of my life in many ways; he helped me at times when I was at my personal low and was always there for me when I needed someone to talk to. As the years passed and life took us in different directions, we remained close through text messages and video chats. We often shared compliments, of how happy we were for each other, shared pictures of our kids, and speak of how we would do anything for our families. I am going to miss my friend, my brother; Mario. Though he is gone, his spirit will always remain in my heart. Mario, I promise I will continue talking to you and know you’ll always be listening to me as you always have. Rest in peace brother.
