Marjorie Jo Parr, or “JoJo” to her loved ones, of Austin TX passed away on September 4th at the age of 92. She was born on October 29th, 1933 in Mount Pleasant, TX where she grew up and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, H.C. Parr Jr.
She kept a loving home, always overflowing with family, friends and pets. Jojo’s house was the backdrop for many childhood memories of her own family and the children she kept in her daycare. But it was Jojo herself that made each moment memorable.
As a faithful Christian, she was hospitable with her time and resources, generously offering a helping hand to those who needed a friend. Whether it’s opening her home, her kitchen, or volunteering at a PTA, for moments or a lifetime, she wanted everyone to feel like they had a place at her table. Usually with a plate full of chocolate pie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Parr Jr, mother Mary and father Allen Harper. She is survived by Lynn Konze and Rusty Parr, her ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her ashes will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mount Pleasant.
