Mark was born in Yorktown, Texas, to William and Lavera Lemke. He graduated from Yorktown High School, attended Texas State University, The University of Texas, and Austin Community College. He met Carrie Sivek in 1979 and they were married in 1980. Together they moved to Pflugerville, had two children, and spent 44 years of blissful marriage together. Mark always said his greatest joys were becoming a Dad and Papa.
Mark held many jobs over the years before settling down at Infineon (previously known as AMD). He worked in a couple of different FABs, but had worked in FAB 25 since 1995.
Mark enjoyed holidays, barbecues, trying different food, comedy clubs, concerts, and all celebrations that revolved around his family. He had many great friendships and enjoyed his outings and happy hours with all his friends and coworkers. Mark loved his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. He loved planning and going on vacations which over the years, him and the family took many all across the U.S. He also enjoyed going snow skiing with family and friends. Later in life, he fell in love with Costa Rica where he bought a retirement home. He took several trips there per year. He also frequented Las Vegas where he loved sitting at the different bars playing video poker and trying different cocktails. The bartenders always remembered Mark.
Many of the greatest loves of Mark’s life were all his fur babies over the years, especially cats. There was never a hurt of stray animal that he wouldn’t care for or spend his last dollar to take care of. Mark even chased down a hawk and made it drop a registered pigeon, which he took care of until he located the owner. Whether it be a cat, dog, duck, skunk, possum, squirrel, fox, or bird, if it had fur or feathers, it was very well fed and taken care of. Mark truly was one of the funniest, kindest, most patient, most dependable, and fun-loving person you could meet. If you were lucky enough to be a part of his circle of family and friends, you can consider yourself truly blessed.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lavera Lemke and his in-laws, Lawrence and JoAnn Sivek.
