

He was born on December 10, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Garnet Mae Feil and Martin Peter Feil.
He graduated from Foreman High School in 1956; joined the United States Air Force in 1957 in which he retired as a Master Sargent with 21 ½ years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran; was stationed at Bergstrom AFB where he served alongside of President Lyndon B Johnson as part of his presidential security detail. While in the United States Air Force, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management degree from Park College in 1977.
He was an active Freemason for over 40 years with memberships in the following: Austin Lodge 12 where he served as Secretary and as Senior Deacon; T Neal Porter Lodge where he served as Senior Steward, Junior and Senior Deacon, and Junior and Senior Warden, along with being a Worshipful Master. He also served at the District 50 Grand Lodge as the District Deputy Grand Master and the District Education Officer. Mr. Feil was also a member of the Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Feil of 59 years; son, Dennis Feil and wife Deanna Feil of Austin; daughter – Denise Wilkerson of Pflugerville; Brother – Robert Feil and wife Lucci Feil of Fairfield, CA; Grandchildren – Adam Sanchez, Derek Feil, Samantha Wilkerson, Alyssa Wilkerson, Kayla Feil; Great Grandchildren – Zoe Sanchez, Mae Sanchez; and many other family and friends whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents Garnet Mae Feil and Martin Peter Feil.
A heartfelt thank you to our long-time caregiver, Gloria Buster, for the love and care she has shown our family; and to the Texas Home Health Hospice nurses over the last several months.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital of Dallas in memory of Marvin D. Feil.
