Mary B. Richardson, age 93, of Austin, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at Pflugerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Crumpler, West Virginia, March 24, 1923 to Henry Vinson Bradley and Mary Louise Campbell.
Mary graduated high school from North Fork, West Virginia and proceeded to work all of her life until her retirement. She began by selling tickets at her home town theater. When she later moved to Cleveland, Ohio she worked as a waitress for many years before working as an assistant buyer at May Co. and then as a charge clerk at Lutheran Hospital before moving to Houston, Texas where she first worked for the Albert Pick Hotel and then Hermann Hospital as a supervisor in housekeeping and supply. After moving to Austin she worked at Western Auto for a short time before moving to Midland to become a caregiver. She seems to have gone full circle, from care giving to being cared for. One of the highlights of her life in the years before the nursing home was to meet with her friends and church family at Teri Road Baptist Church. She was also very much into quilting and had her "Lone Star" quilt displayed at the George Washington Carver Museum for a season. Mary was talented, funny and much loved and we will miss her.
Mary is survived by her sister Jane Glaze of North Royalton, Ohio, sister-in-law Cara Lee of Cleveland, Ohio, her daughter Elizabeth Salinas of Austin and her son Norman Bailey of Grafton, Ohio and his wife Diane Horne, granddaughter Jesse Merugu (Srinavas), grandson Nathan Horne (Vicky), both of Cleveland, Ohio, great granddaughters Ashley Standridge (Michael) of San Diego, California and Zoey Horne of Cleveland, Ohio, great grandson Kailash Merugu of Cleveland, Ohio and great-great-granddaughter ShiAnne Standridge of San Diego, California and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
