Mary Frances Schmidt

Mary Frances Schmidt, 88, of Austin, Texas, passed away on June 21, 2016. She was born March 14, 1928 to Collin and Mary (Polly) Magee in San Antonio, Texas. Mary Frances married Carl Schmidt on August 14, 1946, and they had two sons, David and Donald.

Carl and Mary Frances owned and operated The Boat Shop in Austin, Texas until his death in 1963. Mary Frances’ life centered around her family. She was a talented artist and seamstress. Mary Frances loved the outdoors, often hunting and fishing with her parents, children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband and parents. Mary Frances is survived by her son David and wife Karen of Midland, Texas, son Don and wife Lisa of Round Rock, Texas and three grandchildren, Doug Schmidt of Midland, Texas, Kristin Schmidt of Houston, Texas and Mia Schmidt of Round Rock, Texas.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the Harbor at Buckner Villas for the kind care provided to Mary Frances. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Buckner Villas, 1110 Tom Adams Drive, Austin, Texas 78753 with Sr. Care and Assistance designation to provide for residence who have outlived their funds.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas with the Reverend Susan Leibrock officiating.
