Maude Miles

Feb. 3, 1922 - June 29, 2011

Maude Esther Elizabeth Miles was born in Manor, Texas. She was the seventh of thirteen children of Deacon Ben and Mrs. Georgia Davis Williams. She attended school in Manor and later moved to Austin. Maude worked as a domestic for many years and retired as Manager of Housekeeping at St. David's Hospital after 25 years of service.

She was previously married to the late Rev. Jimmie Miles. To this union seven children were born. Maude was called home to rest on June 29, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Sammie Williams, Joseph Williams, Jimmie Williams, John Williams and Bennie Wiliams, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Floyd William Miles (Lois), James Kent Miles, Margie Nell Miles, Shirley Ann Miles Wren, Charles Edward Miles and Tommy Gene Miles all of Austin, and Anthony Roy Miles (Beverly) of Watauga, TX; Four sisters, Beaulah Mae Fresch, Georgia Beatrice Fletcher, Mary Ella Spence and Lucy Lee Swain, all of Austin, TX; fourteen grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Pre-Celebration services, Wednesday, July 6, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Cook-Walden Memorial Chapel, 14501 North IH 35, Pflugerville, TX, where Funeral services will also be held, Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
