Michael was born March 6, 1971 in Austin, Texas and was a lifelong area resident. After receiving his degree in Criminal Justice from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas he worked as a Probation Officer for Travis County then went to the City of Austin Library System where he worked until his death.
Michael leaves behind his two beloved daughters, Lauren Taylor Yantis, 17, and Hannah Brook Yantis, 9. He is also survived by his mother, Charlotte Hawkins and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael will be missed by his close friends and co-workers.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Michael at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas on Thursday, November 4, 2015 at 3:30 PM, with viewing beginning at 2:30 PM immediately preceding the service.
In lieu of flowers, Michael would appreciate a contribution to the American Diabetes Association.
