Mildred McCollum Briggs

Born an only child in Franklin, North Carolina on January 31st 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Theresa McCollum, her beloved husband Lt. Col. Alfred Briggs, and her stepson Jeffery Briggs.

She is survived by her stepson Scott Briggs, daughters Suzanne Reisch and Pam Houghton, sons Craig Briggs and Marc Briggs. She had numerous loving grandchildren including Kim Rodriguez, Toni Houghton, Neil Houghton, Jason Briggs, Christina Briggs, Mallory Briggs and April Briggs, and great-grandchildren Victoria and Brandon Rodriguez.

Mom loved life, family, God, singing and dancing. She was a faithful military wife and an unforgettable mother who showed us love, discipline, and humor. In addition to running a household and cooking awesome food, Mom sewed costumes for Austin Ballet Theatre and worked as a florist.

Graveside Services will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 N. IH 35, Pflugerville, Texas, on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10:30 AM .
