Today, Saturday, November 2, 2019 marks the end of an era in Austin Texas, as a true, live, original Austin musician has passed on! I thank God today that the world had an opportunity to witness this amazing woman! Mildred Linley passed away at the age of 93. Mildred was born on December 19, 1925, a native Texan.
Mildred faithfully played the piano from the age of 16 to the age of 93 at almost every church service. She was a faithful wife of 54 years to Samuel Lindley and a Deaconess at South First Baptist Church, being a certified member of the greatest generation. Mildred faithfully donated to “Feed the Children” and was an Austin, TX original.
Mildred faithfully raised 2 amazing children, a missionary grandson, a doctor for a granddaughter, she financially supported 3 great grandchildren, and adopted 2 amazing non-biological grandchildren. She was also a great sister to Aunt Louise. Aunt Mildred, A Grandmol, Forever Missed.
It is with great sadness.... yet immense gratitude.... that the world said goodbye to you this afternoon.
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31:20-31
