Mildred was born on February 24, 1927 in Dessau, Texas to Edward C. Nauert and Augusta Pauline Julia (Sakewitz) Nauert.
Mildred was a true one of a kind. She was employed for many years with the Texas Department of Public Safety, retiring in 1989. She was a long time, devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. Mildred can always be fondly remembered for her faith and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She possessed a love of many things including, but not limited to, peppermints and Jolly Ranchers, as well as keeping her candy jars filled with plain chocolate, peanut, and peanut butter M&M’s for family.
She had a love for all kinds of music and enjoyed the pleasure of a simple glass of white wine every day. Her personality, her love of others, and her infectious smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She married Vesper Lee Warwick on December 24, 1944, in Phoenix City, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Vesper Lee Warwick, twin daughters, granddaughters, Baby Forgay and Dana West. Also preceding her were her parents, Edward C. and Augusta Pauline Julia (Sakewitz) Nauert, brothers Emmitt Nauert, Gilbert Nauert, Harvey Nauert, and sisters Irene Rundberg, Ellen Kissman and Imogene Nauert.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn West and her husband James of Austin, Texas and Melanie Menefee and her husband Kenneth of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Lauren LaRoche and husband Jeff of Mooresville, North Carolina and Chad Menefee and wife Brittany of Iowa Colony, Texas; great grandchildren Grace, Emersyn, and Leighton LaRoche, as well as many extended family members and close friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday July 22, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 1500 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with services immediately following at 3:00 p.m., with Pastors Dave Schroder and Kevin Westergren officiating. Graveside services will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery located at 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
