Milena Kostic

Raised - Born in Ljubinje Herzegovina in 10/10/1925. Name - Milena Kostic died at age 88. Her siblings - Djoka, Zdrava, Bosa, Milan and Predo all per-deceased her, Husband - Dusan Kostic - died in 1982. Family - she has 3 daughters, Mira, Ksenija, and Nevenka whom are married to Ivan Lukic (Mira) and Jadranko Corak (Ksenija). Grandchildren - Darko, Boris, Marko, and Ivana, all of whom she raised.

Even in the direst of predicaments, she was able to shine a light by making fun of situations and topics that may be frowned upon. The beauty of Milena is that everyone knew that she was coming from a place of love so everyone understood. She was as unique and special as they come, and there will never be any like her, and there certainly never were before.

She grew up and lived through WW2 and the civil war. After marriage she moved to Sarajevo and spent most of her life there until the civil war erupted in Bosnia. Following the war, she came to Texas in 1995 and we were reunited.

She was a loving woman who always put her problems aside for the sake of others. She raised all of her 4 grandchildren with the utmost care and love. She was always there for us and was basically like our mother. In our tight-knit family dynamic she was a general and rightfully so. We all loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. Our grandma was truly a unique woman that is a dying breed. She stood for everything that was right and always had her family's interest at heart...always. We will miss her tremendously and find comfort that the entire family had the luxury of seeing her before she passed away. We love you BABA, ALWAYS. May God rest your soul. RIP the greatest person I know - Milena Kostic.
