Natividad Young Visperas

Natividad “Natalie” Young Visperas passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 76, after a year-and-a-half hard-fought battle with a rare brain tumor. Born on December 24, 1949, to Donald and Remedios Young in Manilla, Philippines, Natalie lived a life centered around the people she loved most—her family, her friends and especially her grandchildren.

Natalie, or “Nats” as many of her friends and family called her, is survived by her husband, Jesus Visperas; her daughter Scylla Lopez and son-in-law Todd Lopez; her daughter Crystal Visperas and partner Kyle Alford; and her two grandsons, Sam Lopez and Ace Lopez. She is also survived by her three sisters, Erlinda Posadas, Priscilla Young and Evelyn Ferreras. She will be reunited in Heaven with her sister Becky South, who passed away in August 2024.

If you knew Natalie, you knew she loved getting together with friends, laughing, dancing and having a good time. She made an effort to keep up with the people who mattered to her.

Natalie was also incredibly hospitable. If you came to her house, you were going to be fed. It was simply non-negotiable. She loved cooking her famous Filipino food and baking delicious treats. Sharing food was one of the ways Natalie showed her love.

Natalie enjoyed puzzles, making her own jewelry and spending countless hours caring for her plants. She could tell you which plant needed what, when it needed water and probably what you were doing wrong if it wasn't thriving. She had a way of caring for everything around her—and that included her family.

And nobody received more of that love than her grandsons, Sam and Ace. Those boys were her world. Natalie loved them more than words can really express. She worried about them, celebrated them, looked after them and was incredibly proud of the young men they were becoming. Being their grandmother was something she treasured deeply.

Natalie could be sassy and spicy, and she definitely wasn't afraid to tell you what she thought. Her strong personality came from an even stronger heart. When she loved you, she loved you fiercely.

Her absence will leave a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew her.

Natalie’s ashes will be laid to rest at Restwood Memorial in Clute, Texas, next to her sister and around the corner from her mother, brother-in-law and nephew. If you choose to join the service, please wear any shade of red, purple, or pink - Natalie's Favorite Colors.

Natalie will be missed more than we can say, and she will be forever loved.
