Born on August 10, 1938 in Austin, Texas, Ned was the son of Ned Buratti, Sr. and Gladys (Overstreet) Buratti. His parents preceded him in death. Ned was a graduate of Austin High School. He and Mary Klein were married on August 19, 1989.
An employee of the Texas Railroad Commission for over 35 years, Ned retired on August 31, 2003. In his younger years, Ned enjoyed fishing and hunting. Spending time with Mary and their beloved dogs brought him joy. He enjoyed walking with the group at the Pflugerville REC center every morning and discovered he loved searching for “treasures” with his metal detector.
Ned is survived by his wife, Mary; his son, Ricky Buratti and wife Cindy; his daughter, Terrie Jordahl and husband Myron; and his step-daughter, Bretny Klein. He also leaves four grandchildren, Alyssa Buratti, Kyle Buratti, Ellen Jordahl and Ryan Jordahl. His sister, Pat Swank and husband David; and his brother, Bobby Buratti and wife Barbara also survive him.
“We will miss your jokes Ned; but, know that we will continue to share them for years to come.”
