She was married to her sweetheart and soul mate, Major Edwin LeBreton for 71 loving years. She and Edwin traveled to many places including Japan. She was the loving, fun and patient mother of six boys and one girl. Early in her married life, she worked for the Army Maps Service in San Antonio drafting maps for the invasion of Normandy Beach and the Philippines. She loved gardening, camping, fishing and reading. She was also a local artist and was known for her paintings of bluebonnets and the famous “round rock” in Brushy Creek.
Although they faced many trials, sorrows and joys, she and Edwin worshipped, prayed and worked at their beloved second home, St. William Catholic Church, since June 1974. She was a faith-filled spirit who welcomed everyone and accepted them with open arms. She was instrumental in beginning the Prayer Line. She and Edwin were also one of the first couples serving as Eucharistic ministers, and also in the Couples Club. In her many roles at St. William, she was the second president of the Ladies Guild, Funeral Meals and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Catholic Daughters and also ministered to hospital patients and the homebound.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Edwin LeBreton, and their sons, Sgt. Michael Dean LeBreton and John LeBreton and her brother, Marlos Jimison.
She leaves a family she will continue to adore: Paul LeBreton of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Stephen and wife, Donna of Austin, Texas, Eddie and wife, April Ann of Round Rock, Texas, David and his wife, Janet of Bertram, Texas and daughter, Mary and husband, Lawrence Hammons of Pflugerville, Texas; Cousin June Dunn and Aunt Wanda Stringfellow. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, as well as, many beloved friends.
Neva also wishes to convey her heartfelt gratitude to all those who have held her hand and heart, especially Dr. Lianne Marks and Dr. Thomas Vinson.
