

Norman Elvis Bryant, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from complications of cancer, surrounded by his family in Austin, Texas. A dearly loved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all.
Norman was born in Thorndale, Texas on February 11, 1929. He was an Army veteran and served in Japan in WWII. After being discharged, he attended business college and worked for Rawls Lumber Company. He was employed by Leif Johnson Ford for 38 years until his retirement in 2008 at age 79. He was married to Doris (Nord) Bryant for 65 years and together they raised seven wonderful children in Austin, Texas. He was a Scout Master, avid gardener, enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family.
Norman is survived by his wife Doris and dachshund, Penny, seven children, sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sons-in-law.
Visitation and service to celebrate Norman's life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
