Olga Olivares Garza

Olga was born on November 17,1951 to Maria Filomena Olivares and Guadalupe Olivares in Brownsville, Texas. Olga graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Texas in 1970 and was a member of the marching band. Olga was very active in the Associacion de Charros de Houston. She was a member from 1972-1974 and also held the title of Charros Queen for those 2 years. She had the opportunity to perform in numerous local rodeos as well as those in Mexico. Olga went on to pursue a 25 year career in Commercial Banking.

In 1973 Olga met her spouse David in Houston, Texas and they later married on March 23, 1974. Olga and David went on to have 3 daughters, Marisa, Lisa and Denise.

Olga retired in 2000 from commercial banking which allowed her to pursue other interests. She also spent 6 years with the YMCA in Round Rock. Olga went on to spend her retirement doing what she loved most which was gardening, traveling, as well as spending time with her family and her precious grandchildren.

Olga was preceded in death by her father Guadalupe Olivares and her sister Irma Zarate. She is survived by her husband David of 48 years, her mother Maria Olivares, her sister Yolanda Zaccaro, brother Eddie Olivares, daughter Marisa Garza, daughter Lisa Dean (Daniel), daughter Denise Perlinger (Brent) and her beloved grandchildren Aiden Laurence, Ava Perlinger, Ryan Dean, Reagan Dean and Mason Perlinger.

Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas on Wednesday July, 27, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. followed by a vigil at 6:30 p.m. A mass will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Pflugerville, Texas. A committal service will be held immediately after the mass at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
