

Oscar was born on October 7, 1917 in Georgetown, Texas to Oscar and Annie Maude (Cheek) King. He was raised in Georgetown. He finished high school and then attended Southwestern University where he was on the tennis team. After marrying his beloved wife June they moved to Houston, Texas where they raised their family. Oscar owned and operated A-1 Floor Covering in Houston for many years. While living in Houston, he and June spent many weekends with friends and family at their home on Lake Travis, where they eventually moved upon his retirement.
Oscar was an avid fisherman and golfer. He loved fishing on Lake Travis and spending time with friends on the golf course. In his later years he enjoyed watching football, tennis, John Wayne movies and playing Skip-Bo with his caregivers. He also enjoyed visits from family and friends. Oscar was quite a character and loved reminiscing about the good old days. He always had a story to tell and above all loved to make people laugh.
Oscar was preceded in death by his beloved wife June “Mimi” King; his son Gary King; his daughter Sharon Cashen; son-in-law Larry Cashen; and his great-grandson Dallas Schultz.
Oscar is survived by his sweet sister Grace Conlee; his granddaughter Kim Voswinkel and husband Wayne; his granddaughter Lisa Kovacs and husband George; his great grandchildren Colton Voswinkel, Chandler Voswinkel and Brett Schultz; his great-great granddaughter Dallas Rae Schultz; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. I-H 35 in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
