Paul was a devoted husband, master craftsman, mentor, adventurer, and friend. For more than seventy years, he was a Master Electrician, and long-time electrical contractor, earning the respect of everyone who knew him through his exceptional skill, unwavering work ethic, and commitment to excellence. Even as his health declined, Paul's determination never faded. In January, at the age of 91, he proudly passed the examination to renew his Master Electrician License—a remarkable achievement that reflected the perseverance and character that defined his life.
Paul and his beloved wife, Mary, shared 38 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, faith, laughter, and countless adventures. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and helping others. Paul is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Liz, his wife, Mary, sons, Sean, Tim and wife, Tracy, Benjamin and wife, Paula, and Jon, and daughter, Cathy, as well as 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cindy Roland O’Malley.
Throughout his life, Paul was known for his many passions. He built homes and houseboats, earned his pilot's license and found joy in the freedom of flight, and spent his younger years racing cars at local drag strips. He especially loved camping at Mansfield Cut on Padre Island, where family and friends gathered to make treasured memories.
Perhaps Paul's greatest legacy was the investment he made in people. He generously shared his knowledge with young electricians, helping many launch successful careers and even their own businesses. He believed that hard work, integrity, and a willingness to teach others could change lives, and he lived those values every day.
Paul was a man of quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering generosity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer wise advice, or encourage someone who needed a chance. Those who knew him will remember his infectious smile, adventurous spirit, and the genuine compassion he showed everyone he met.
Although Parkinson's disease eventually stole much of his physical strength, it never diminished the heart of the man his family knew and loved. His courage in facing life's final challenges inspired everyone around him.
Paul leaves behind family, friends, former coworkers, apprentices, and countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. His legacy lives on in every home he helped build, every electrician he mentored, every life he encouraged, and every cherished memory shared by those who loved him.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that Paul's work here is complete and that he is now at peace.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
