

She graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Texas in 1953. She attended Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas.
She worked for many years at the Travis County Courthouse, Tax Assessors Office as bookkeeper. Following that, she worked for the Austin Independent School District as a Principal’s Secretary at Martin and Mendez Middle School until her retirement.
She was a long-time member of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. She loved her church and faithfully served as a member of the Church Choir, and Ladies Chorus. She also served in leadership positions in Sunday School, but her greatest love was working with the Singles Ministry. Throughout the years, she used her sewing skills as a ministry with Threads of Love, knitted baby blankets for hospitals, and sewed for Buckner Baptist Children’s and Family Ministries.
In her later years, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to be near her son. She joined University Baptist Church where she participated in the Prayer Quilt Ministry.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Robert Samplaski, the love of her life. She also lost a son, Stephen Gary Samplaski in April 2021. She is also preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Teresa Rincon, as well as several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Terry L. Samplaski (Sharon) of San Antonio, TX; Jeremy Samplaski (Mary Lauren) of Cullman, AL; Jeffrey Samplaski (Hannah) of Liberty Hill, TX; Jamie Samplaski-Hall (Josh) of Knoxville, TN. She has seven great-grandchildren and one on the way: Norah Grace Samplaski, Katherine Mae Samplaski, Claire Delynne Samplaski, Riley Kate Samplaski, Macie Joy Samplaski, Reid Joseph Hall, and Jordan Robert Hall. One sister, Rinnie Smith of Austin, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
She loved to travel having been to every state with the exception of Alaska. She enjoyed camping with the O’Chester family, chaperoning students on mission trips, but her greatest joy was going to Israel several times. She talked about it often. She was a master seamstress and loved sewing, knitting, crochet and painting.
The family would like to thank The Etta Assisted Living and A.I.P. Hospice (both of San Antonio) for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemetery at on April 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m..
Interment to follow at the same location.
