Raymond Lawrence Morgan passed away peacefully on November 5th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Raymond was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 15, 1960 to the late James and Janice Morgan and spent most of his life in Round Rock.
Raymond taught us all how to live. He had a strong work ethic and worked for many years at Dell. He was an amazing person who was always ready to help someone in need. He loved to take care of his friends and family, had a sense of adventure, and loved to travel. He was compassionate, optimistic, smart, and humble. He was very funny and lit up a place with his great smile and kind heart. He loved throwing parties and delighted in seeing others have a great time. For many years he hosted Tuesday night spaghetti for neighborhood friends and family. He loved to BBQ and make chili for his annual trip to Terlingua. He loved listening to great music. He was a great husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He fought his battle with cancer with such amazing grace and courage. We, his family and friends are all so thankful for the times we had with Raymond. We miss him so much, but are so grateful that he is no longer suffering.
We would like to express our sincerest thanks to all who cared for Raymond, especially Dr. Kocs and the staff at Texas Oncology, Dr. Fornier and the staff at MD Anderson as well as Charlie Raynor, his home healthcare nurse and Beck Lauer, his nurse from Hospice Austin.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 34 years Dianne (Dede), his children Kevin (Meredith) and Courtney (Mark) Butler and future grandchild, Baby Butler. He leaves behind his siblings Tom (Shirley), Tina (John) Flores, Pat, Michele Elledge, Teresa (Bob) Kaschak, and Sean. He also leaves his in-laws, step-mother, several step-siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.
Services will be Saturday, November 14th at 10:00am at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH-35 Pflugerville, TX 78660 followed by a BBQ.
The family requests donations in Raymond’s name to Hospice Austin at www.hospiceaustin.org or a charity of your choice.
