

Veteran and Retired APD Police Officer, Ray Shillito’s love of life did not come to an end with his passing. Ray passed away on November 12th, 2023 at the age of 51, leaving behind his loving wife Rebecca Shillito and six children and one granddaughter: Austin, Colby, Savannah, Isaiah, Zachary, Joaquin and Sabrina.
Ray served for 6 years in the United States Air Force from 1993 to 1999, during the Gulf War Era. He joined the Austin Police Department in October of 1999 including 10 years in the organized crime unit. After 23 years, Ray retired as a Senior Police Officer.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Ray. He loved to be near water, either the beach or that pool of his. Ray stayed active by playing soccer, loved his Cowboys, Stars and coaching his boys in sports. He was the cook of the house and loved to grill or hosts crawfish boils. He and his wife, Rebecca, loved to travel and shared a love for recovery and helping others find spiritual healing.
A visitation for family and friends for Ray will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at LifeFamily Mueller, 1504 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723.
