Raymond Frank Sierleja

Ray was born on October 03, 1946 in Cleveland Ohio to the late Frank Sierleja and Elsie (Richter) Sierleja. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio until moving to Houston, Texas in 1979. Ray was employed for many years in Telecommunications with AT&T, retiring in November 2000. Ray enlisted in the US Navy on March 28, 1966 as a Communications Technician until his honorable discharge on March 27, 1969. He was a loving and devoted husband to his late wife Joy, children, and grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his endless sense of humor, unique personality, and selfless generosity. Ray will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ray married the love of his life, Joyce “Joy” Sierleja, on October 26, 2000 in Austin, Texas and lived happily with her until her passing on February 19, 2019.

Ray is survived by his brother David Sierleja of Concord Township, Ohio; his son Paul Sierleja and his wife Marilee currently stationed in North Kingstown, Rhode Island; his daughter Tricia Pinola and her husband Randy of Spokane, Washington; Joy’s daughters Ann Rutledge and Renee Orr with her husband David all of Austin, Texas; and grandchildren, Erin Orr, Will Sierleja, Luke Sierleja, and Oliver Sierleja, as well as many extended family members and close friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elsie Sierleja, his eldest son Raymond Patrick Sierleja, his Grandson Michael Sierleja, and Joy’s grandson Daniel Orr.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the Mausoleum Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
