For all those that loved Becky, I am truly sorry for the loss you are feeling. She and I were not in touch her last years, but I remember her devotion to my brother and her children and grandchildren, and her love of God. She could quote scripture and often talked about her upbringing in the church. Becky was a talented artist with flowers, a gift she shared with her grandparents. She opened Belding Florist and worked hard long hours to support her family. Becky was also a student of natural health and I have fond memories of picking her brain on what supplements to take for this or that. Her thirst for knowledge was something I admired in her. She and my sister Colleen were great friends and enjoyed many good times together and I'm grateful they had each other as more than sister-in-laws. Blessings and love to the Pedersen family and to Michael Bernard and Jeannie who have suffered a great loss, and to Christopher, who has been a wonderful big brother to them both.

Yesterday I was shocked and saddened to learn that Becky passed away. She was one terrific lady!
Throughout this difficult time and all that lies ahead I hope the sympathy of others bring some comfort to your hearts.

Becky was born into a military family. In spite of frequent moves and few material goods, she was a happy, energetic, and slightly temperamental child. Like her mother she was kind and open hearted toward others.
In high school Becky was an excellent runner sought after by the coaches for competitions, but she was not interested.
In academics she had difficulty in Spanish class, but she was quite fluent while she was asleep. Many nights I would be awakened by her speaking Spanish in her sleep.
As a teen-ager she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. In spite of withering challenges and distractions in her life, she would return to her spiritual roots and stay the course. She never ran from the battles.
She was unselfish toward her extended family, brother, and sisters, as well as to the ostracized and rejected.
Because Becky was so merciful, and without the balancing help of her dear husband Michael Hillen, she was often misunderstood as weak.
As a loving daughter, she cared for her mother during a lengthy illness. The last painful years of her life were given to caring for her grandchildren. She was a very courageous and often misunderstood individual. These verses remind me of Becky:
1 Corinthians 1:27-29
…but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God.
