Robert Lee Sheffield of Round Rock, Texas was received into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Bob was born to Grady and Elva Sheffield on January 20,1939 in Raymond, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Patty, his brother, Don, and his wife of 52 years, Barbara. He is survived by his wife, Nita, of Round Rock, his children, Lynn Barker of Commerce, Texas, Carol Barba, of Round Rock, Texas, and Mark Sheffield, of Austin, Texas, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He pastored churches in Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky and was employed by Lifeway Christian Resources in Nashville, Tennessee for over twenty years. Bob Sheffield was dedicated to the work to which he was called, dedicated to his family, and dedicated to his friends, all because he dedicated himself as a servant of Jesus. To be loved by him was a special blessing, and he will be missed by many.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at First Baptist Church Round Rock, 306 Round Rock Avenue, Round Rock, Texas 78664 with Dr. Gary Brinkley officiating and Pastor Jarred Allen Co-officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church Round Rock.
