Austin — Robert “Bob” Frank Waters, 80, died on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Bob was known for his infectious smile, unfailing generosity, and his love for his family.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Merlene (Frederick) Waters, and grandson, Jason Peterson, he leaves behind his four children, daughter Shirley (Waters) Watters and husband C.J. Watters, Jr.; sons, Robert Waters, Paul Waters and wife Kristie Waters; daughter Amber Waters; three step-children, Keith Spinn, Craig Spinn and wife Kelle Spinn, and Debbie (Spinn) Peterson; eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Born in Austin, the son of Paul and Lois (Culver) Waters, he was raised in San Antonio where he graduated from Harlandale High School and served in the National Guard. He later returned to Austin to raise his family. He worked for 26 years for the City of Austin Electric Utility Department.
The funeral service will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH35, Pflugerville, TX 78660 at 10 am Wednesday, November 28th. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, November 27th.
