Rose was born on June 30, 1947, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, where she was raised by her mother. After graduating from high school, she attended Bible college for a time. She met the love of her life, Ed Harlan, who was serving in the United States Air Force at the time.
Throughout her adult life, Rose had an unwavering faith in God. She loved Jesus Christ for paying the price for her sin, and because of His sacrifice, she became a child of the Most High. Rose found peace and belonging as a daughter of God. She loved to tell others that Jesus loves them, with the hope they would find the same saving faith that she had. She often prayed for others as the Lord brought them to her mind, sometimes in the middle of night. She loved Jesus until the end, confirming with her last words to one of her grandsons, “forever.”
Rose devoted herself to her family and supported them in a variety of roles, ranging from administrative work to web design. She possessed a remarkable eye for beauty, creativity, and technology.
Rose had a deep appreciation for beauty and artistic expression. She was a gifted painter, seamstress, crocheter, and creator of digital artwork. She generously used her talents to serve others, particularly those in need, bringing both practical help and beauty into their lives. Her loved ones will forever treasure the many handmade gifts and creations that reflected her love and thoughtfulness.
Rose embraced her God-given feminine nature with joy and grace. Even during life’s most difficult seasons, she delighted in beauty and self-expression. She could often be found with seasonally themed nails, beautifully styled hair, and bright, colorful fabrics that reflected her vibrant spirit.
The defining characteristics of Rose’s life were her love for others and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. No matter her circumstances, she sought to encourage those around her, sharing both kindness and the hope she found in her Savior.
Rose deeply loved her children and grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Kite, her father, Charles Kite and her baby brother Lonnie.
Rose is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Edward Harlan; her sons and daughters-in-law, Corbin and Jenny Harlan, RJ and Darlene Harlan, Keith and Amanda Harlan; and her twelve cherished grandchildren.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to David and Kari Engle and the compassionate staff of Starwood Manor for the attentive and loving care they provided to Rose throughout the years. We are also deeply thankful for Jenny Harlan, whose faithful involvement and dedication in coordinating Rose’s care is a tremendous blessing to our family.
